Welcome Friends and Families! Plokkers Rule!

I just bought my Eclipse CD today - and I was reading the liner notes. I always do.  I am so happy they wrote the lyrics out.  After the lyrics are "Special Thank You's".

Arnel wrote:

    THANK YOU GOD. TO MY WIFE AND KIDS. PINEDA FAMILY. TRUTHFUL, SWEET AND LOVING FRIENDS I'VE MADE AROUND THE WORLD (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE). PLOKKERS. LUCKY ANGELS. APFI DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS AND LASTLY THANK YOU TO JOURNEY, TO NOEL AND MY CLOTHING AND SHOE SPONSORS.

Just thought you all would like to know we were specially thanked. And special thanks to you, Arnel, for choosing to be the gracious person you are.  God bless you always.

P.S.  How does one say "God bless you" in Tagalog?

Thanks for this thread Kathy...Arnel is loved not only for his voice but also for his big heart...
Nice to know he doesn't forget Noel Gomez, by the way NDG is another missing person in this forum.
Kamusta, Ambassador, Now, mangyari, could you spell it out phonetically.  I'm having trouble saying "ng" and also "ingat"  (spelling??)  it is supposed to mean "take care".  I am going for physical therapy and I have three Filipina ladies who are helping me learn a little Tagalog.  It is nice to speak to someone in their own language, so I want to say God bless you to them when I leave. I love to surprise them.
Salamat.

Hi, Ningning -- I saw from another thread that you had an opportunity to listen to the CD--Great, isn't it?!!  I haven't been able to listen to everything-- I love Tantra the best so far.  I'm still really missing Tita Pat.  She makes this place so lively.  There are many great contributors here and I enjoy following them. Plokkers is a nice community.  I am sure you are not "nameless" to Tita Pat, you have a nice presence--she is a lovely soul who seems to see other souls through their words.  I find her to be gracious and I do miss her.  I  have believed that Tantra is philosophy or a ritual practice that elevates, or enlightens one.  Arnel sings as if to an Entity. I'm not really to sure about that - Do you know anything about it? -I guess we'll get educated--It's a deep and beautiful song. It is another way to understand my God and my life and relation to every one and all that is. God bless you, too.

Ingat ka.

Hi Kathy !  GOD bless you too !  thanks for sharing Knellsky's (Arnel) thank you notes indicated in the "eclipse" cd. Am dying to hear this masterpiece, tho'  haven't checked yet with our local  music stores if it is now available here in the Philippiines.   Heard that it is now #1 in  Germany's album chart and  ranking   #s 3 to 6   in other countries....  !      I hope  I could help you "locate"  Tita Pat.  I also miss her..(although I may be a "nameless" plokker to her) but as it is, we only have to wait till she clicks that mouse again !!  (Oww... c'mon Tita Pat !! Rise and shine !!)......... Peace and love......!!!

So far at this point, most people who have listened to the Eclipse CD, they're liking "RESONATE" as the top favorite and not too far behind are "TANTRA" and "CHAIN OF LOVE" (based on the PGF poll). I picked "Resonate", "She's A Mystery" and "Someone".

Review notes on ECLIPSE album;

So when they recruited Arnel Pineda for the 2008 album "Revelation", I wasn´t at all convinced that A Perry clone would be the best choice for this band. And the re-recordings of classic Journey hits on the 2nd disc was complete murder in my opinion. My door on Journey was closed just like the case with Perry and the band in 1998. But another part of me said I should listen to their brand new album "Eclipse" because things can change and still, they are the no.1 band for me even though Perry isn´t around anylonger.

Eclipse debuted at #16 in the states but they need a hit single on radio to make it climb higher on the album charts, I´m not sure "City of hope" is the right choice for this. Eclipse is more of an album record filled with stunning Cain/Schon songs in the same fine style as Trial by fire and Arrival plus with traces of the early fusion era. Schon plays guitar like a god on this album and Arnel sings with his own voice this time which is the most positive thing. Eclipse kicks the shit out of Revelation and the song "Tantra" is the best I´ve heard from Journey since the 1996 album "Trial by fire".
