The stellar performance of Arnel Pineda and Lea Salonga may be considered a historical event in Philippine performing arts. In this big corporate event, it was an event itself that an international rockstar and a broadway musical artist performed on the same stage together. They come from very different music genre and yet they delivered a string of Tagalog ballads truthfully and impeccably like they were true blue Tagalog balladeers.

Their rendition is specially moving to their Filipino audience and to Filipino YT viewers like me. It cannot be denied that the message of a song become a thousandfold more meaningful and significant when the performers and the audience share the same native tongue.

Perhaps it is not too far-fetched that a concert or a musical play of this nature will soon be produced featuring Mr. Arnel Pineda and Ms. Lea Salonga.
